About me

I'm a full-time Indianapolis based photographer who will travel to capture your special moments! I'm a believer, a wife, and a mama who is Virginia born and Indiana raised. I love chocolate, pizza, wine, flannel shirts, traveling, minimalism, The Office, 90s music, and anything true crime!

I graduated from Purdue University with a Public Health degree, and then received my Masters in Adult Education & Training from Colorado State University. I have two passions, health & photography. I'm still figuring out how to combine the two into an ultimate dream job!

I have loved photography since I was a kid. My grandparents had an old school polaroid camera that I played with and I was hooked! In high school, my parents bought me a point & shoot camera and I took that thing everywhere. I photographed flowers, landscapes, animals, and people. I may have captured my whole dating experience with my now husband too :D I bought my first "real" camera after we got married. I started out like everyone else, on Auto Mode, but knew I wanted to push myself to learn more. I invested in some beginner classes, watched A LOT of Youtube, & practiced until I was confident in my skills. I've wanted to own a photography business for a long time, but as always life got in the way. However, there is no time like the present so as of February 2023, Mindy Whetsel Photography is an LLC!
